what is hud - vash?

The Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Veterans Affairs Supported Housing (HUD-VASH) Program provides long-term case management and supportive services with permanent housing support through a cooperative partnership between HUD and VA. Eligible Homeless Veterans receive case management and supportive services designed to support stability and recovery from the issues involved in homelessness, as well as a Housing Choice Section 8 voucher to assist with rent payment. The program goals include promoting maximal Veteran recovery and independence to sustain permanent housing in the community for the Veteran and the Veteran’s family.
